A man has been seriously injured after a digger overturned in a South Hams village.
It happened in a field in East Prawle, near Salcombe, at about 8.35pm on Monday, August 12.
Emergency services worked together to free the driver from the 12-tonne JCB, which was on its roof.
The man, in his 70s and from the Kingsbridge area, was rescued from the digger at about 10.15pm and airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
He remains in a serious condition.
A force spokeswoman said: "Police, fire and ambulance were called on Monday after a man became trapped within a JCB digger which had overturned on land at East Prawle.
"He sustained potentially life-changing injuries and was airlifted to hospital by the air ambulance.
"The Health and Safety Executive has been informed."
