A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash involving a car and a truck in the South Hams.
It happened on an unnamed road between Deep Lane and Plympton Hill, which runs parallel to the A38, at around 4.52pm on Monday.
A 37-year-old Plympton man died at the scene.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the crash involved a Triumph, a Ford Focus and a breakdown truck.
Officers believe the motorcycle was involved in a head-on collision with the Focus.
Two ambulances and an air ambulance were sent to assist.
The air ambulance landed at Ivybridge Rugby Club and local firefighters transported crews to the scene.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area as officers closed the road to carry out a full investigation of the scene.
Police are now trying to speak to anyone who saw what happened.
A force spokesperson said: “At 4.52pm on Monday, January 6, police were notified of a three-vehicle road traffic collision on an unclassified road between Deep Lane and Plympton Hill.
“The collision involved a silver Triumph Street Triple RX motorcycle, a black Ford Focus Titanium and a white Scania breakdown truck.
“The motorcyclist, a 37-year-old local man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers from the Alliance’s Roads Policing Team attended the scene.
“A full investigation of the scene took place and officers are working to establish the cause of this collision.
“Police thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene.
“Officers are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision.”
