This week will lead on a story about food hygiene across the South Hams.

According to the Food Standards Agency, the district council sent out more than 200 warning letters to businesses, demanding improvements to their hygiene standards.

We list those businesses in our circulation area who failed to meet level 3, ’generally satisfactory’ in the nationally recognised standards, including those recommended to make urgent or major improvements.

Our front page picture shows residents from Follaton, Totnes, campaigning for a safer crossing close to the junction of Plymouth Road and the Western bypass.

Also we have news of an innovative project to tackle mental health issues in farming communities.

As always, we feature information about ’What’s On’, around the clubs, and ’Village Voices’ all inside.

Remember if you can’t get to the shops, or you have moved out of the area, you can get all South Hams Newspapers online here: http://www.southhams-today.co.uk/subscribe.cfm.
