Most of the South Hams has escaped power cuts, but some have still been reported in our area.

Power cuts occurred last night around Loddiswell and Kingsbridge, but only sporadically and if you weren’t awake in the middle of the night, you may not have noticed, but Western Power is reporting power cuts in other areas.

An interactive map on Western Power Distribution’s website shows power cuts in Totnes, Start Bay, South Brent, Buckfastleigh, Ivybridge, Yelverton, Plympton and Plymstock.

This could be more concerning for areas that have no access to mains gas or oil, as heating is running on electricity.
