Sharpham Estate’s first parkrun took place one year ago on April 1, and has been attracting an average of 100 walkers and runners each week.
The 5-kilometre run begins on the cycle path near the Steam Packet Inn in Totnes, and follows a picturesque route along the River Dart to Ashprington.
Parkrun is a national charitable organisation that aims to get communities moving and exercising more.
It is a timed event and runners can track their progress each week on the official Parkrun website if you register for a barcode.
Event Director Sara Mills said: “We always welcome new runners and walkers, as well as new volunteers to be marshals, timekeepers and barcode scanners.”
“The views of the river and surrounding farmland are spectacular, with views of the Konik ponies, Mangalitsa hairy pigs and Banded Galloway cows, all part of the Sharpham Estate's rewilding project.”
Sharpham Estate parkrun will be celebrating their first anniversary on March 30 and April 6.
If you are interested in joining, just turn up at 9am on Saturday mornings at the cycle path near the Steam Packet Inn, or send a message at [email protected].
