Interesting to see the photograph of the ACF Cadet Band in Totnes Times, on January 19.

The young lad in front wearing white gauntlets and holding the staff is my late husband, Jim Churchward. He played the trumpet in the band.

After serving five years in the army, stationed in Hong Kong, Singapore and fighting the guerillas in Malaya, he returned to Totnes was reinstated with the Post Office and retired in 1991 after 39 years service.
